The Power of Storytelling and Emotion in Mediation: A Workshop
Every legal matter is a story. How we tell that story can make a crucial difference in the matter’s outcome. Do we relay the story in a dry recitation of facts, or instead move the listener by touching their senses and feelings. In this workshop you will engage in exercises on storytelling and reflective listening taught at America’s acclaimed Trial Lawyers College.This workshop will help advocates and mediators to understand and access the feelings that lie behind positions of clients and decision-makers.  You will also learn how to use these skills to deal with “difficult“ persons, and how to make fear your ally.

The workshop leader, Kenneth Turek, is a highly accomplished trial lawyer who has since 1999 taught these principles to thousands of American lawyers at the College.
